General Education Teachers Expectations of Special Education Students Essay
General Education Teachers Expectations of Special Education Students - Essay Example The IDEA Amendments Act of 1997 underlines the significance of guaranteeing that understudies with uncommon requirements can get to the general educational plan, satisfying training guidelines pertinent to each youngster (Oââ¬â¢Connor, 2010). So as to address these difficulties, accordingly, general instruction educators over the US have needed to obtain new procedures and abilities. These progressions imply a time of change for general instruction instructors, illuminating a re-assessment of administration conveyance required to help unique needs understudies in the general training condition. One test that general training educators face is to satisfy and keep up high guidelines of training for each understudy, additionally guaranteeing that all the one of a kind instructional necessities of every kid are met. These desires, be that as it may, are not really fundamentally unrelated. The instructive principles can be utilized as driving force and inspiration for centered instructional arranging in the general training condition for unique needs understudies, prompting improved accomplishment (Oââ¬â¢Connor, 2010). Ikrandraco - Facts and Figures
Name Ikdrandraco (Ikran dragon, after the flying creatures from Avatar); pronounced EE-krahn-DRAY-coe Habitat Rivers and lakes of Asia Historical Period Early Cretaceous (120 million years ago) Size and Weight About 30 inches long and a few pounds Diet Fish Distinguishing Characteristics Moderate size; distinctive bill structure; possible throat patch for holding fish About Ikrandraco Ikrandraco is an odd choice to honor the Ikran, or mountain banshees, of Avatar: this early Cretaceous pterosaur was only about two and a half feet long and a few pounds, whereas the Ikran from the hit movie are majestic, horse-sized, flying creatures that the Navi ride into battle against their human antagonists. Once you get past its name, though, Ikrandraco avatar may have been a truly unique pterosaur: some paleontologists claim that it had a pouch on the underside of its distinctively shaped bill in which it stored recently caught fish, which would make it similar to the modern pelican. However, not everyone is convinced by this putative anatomical feature of Ikrandraco (made of soft tissue, a throat pouch would have no chance of surviving in the fossil record), nor by the hypothesis that this pterosaur skimmed over the surface of lakes and trapped wiggling prey in its submerged lower jaw. The fact is that it can be difficult to infer the everyday behavior of a 120-million-year-old reptile by analogy with modern birds, and the possibility remains that Ikrandraco fed in more conventional fashion, like other pterosaurs of the early Cretaceous period, simply diving into the water and swallowing its fill of fish.

Types of Budgeting Essay Example
Essays on Types of Budgeting Essay The paper "Types of Budgeting" is a great example of an essay on finance and accounting. One significant difference between rational and incremental budgeting models is the comparative level of difficulty. The rational budgeting model is a lengthier, more costly procedure although it offers businesses more alternatives in terms of working in manifold areas with little financial resources (Cropf, 2008). On the other hand, the incremental budgeting model is suitable for little change since the most recent budget and there are extra financial resources to spend. New business objectives, episodes of financial difficulty, and creative approaches are hard to put up using the incremental budgeting model. One advantage of the rational budgeting model is savings, whereby every agency and task financed can account for every dollar spent easily (Cropf, 2008). A disadvantage of rational budgeting is possible, lengthy bureaucratic procedures that can be overwhelming. Rational budgeting models are used often by public agencies and involve complex protocols where even the agencies themselves are not certain they will be financed at all. An advantage of the incremental budgeting model is stability. Incremental budgeting is a stable procedure where the projectââ¬â¢s individual share of the entire budget will not increase or decrease drastically (Cropf, 2008). A disadvantage of incremental budgeting is unnecessary funding. Since this model serves to stabilize sections or elements of a project, incremental budgeting processes end up financing these elements simply because they were underfunded in the past. As a result, efficiency is not a factor. An improvement I would make to the rational budgeting model is to reduce political processes and increase the involvement of special groups that decide the parts of a project worth financing (Cropf, 2008). For the incremental budgeting model, I would allow agencies or sections of a project to account for their previous uses of the budge t in order to determine the current or future allocations.

The Nike-owned American sportswear company has taken over its own distribution in China, moved senior marketing staff to China and put Nike ad agency Wieden Kennedy in charge of a campaign centered on ââ¬Å"Love Noise,â⬠a documentary film (as well as an integrated marketing campaign) about one of the most quintessential aspects of the music world: the road trip. Alongside local bands in each venue, the two groups performed in six Chinese cities: Nanjing, Hangzhou, Changsha, Wuhan, Xiââ¬â¢an and Beijing. As the tour and story unfold, nine featured musicians reveal their personal journeys on the road to self-expression. The documentary was directed by Liu Feng, a filmmaker who joined Wieden Kennedy in 2005. The program was created by the independent agency with media-planning support from WPPââ¬â¢s Mindshare. Both companies also work with Nike, which acquired Converse in 2003. The documentary rolled out last month and will be distributed to consumers who purchase Converse shoes at local retailers through the end of March. Itââ¬â¢s a risky move to adapt Converseââ¬â¢s music-oriented U. S. strategy for China, because the countryââ¬â¢s independent music scene is still very small. On tour, unknown bands typically attract dozens or hundreds of people, not thousands. Chinaââ¬â¢s independent music scene doesnââ¬â¢t have anywhere near the mass appeal it has in the West. Itââ¬â¢s at the pioneering stage at this point, but it is growing,â⬠said Cheryl Calegari, who relocated to Shanghai as Converseââ¬â¢s senior marketing director for Asia/Pacific last January. Close ties with music world Converse has cultivated close ties with the music world for decades. The Chuck Ta ylor All Star and other Converse shoes have been worn by music legends such as Sid Vicious and Blondie, and Converse created a special-edition shoe for Kurt Cobain. Throughout our 100-year history, weââ¬â¢ve always celebrated art, music and fashion, so it was a natural fit for us to be a part of whatââ¬â¢s happening in China,â⬠Ms. Calegari said. Before joining Converse in 2005, she worked with fashion brands such as Tommy Hilfiger and Kenneth Cole. Ms. Calegari arrived in China at about the same time the Nike subsidiary stepped up its presence in the mainland. The Impact of NAFTA free essay sample
This paper examines the impact that the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) has on the continent. This paper provides a thorough definition of NAFTA and proceeds to examine the impact that this agreement has had on the United States. It deals with personal issues such as claims of heightened unemployment as well as national issues such as tax benefits and improved trade. From the paper: On January 1, 1994, the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) was implement between Canada, Mexico, and the United States. This treaty drops most tariffs by 50% immediately, and dropped to zero by 2009. It is a unique trading agreement between two developed countries and a developing nation on a single continent. After eight years since NAFTA commenced, there are mixed analysis and opinions on whether this treaty is a success. It was designed to provide a free-flow of goods between countries without imputative measures and tariffs being enforced; it was promoted as a means to improve productivity and create jobs in the three countries; and, it was touted as model for further free-trade blocs to be created in the Americas and in other regional markets. Using Más in Spanish as an Adverb, Noun, or Pronoun
Using Ms in Spanish as an Adverb, Noun, or Pronoun Ms is the word most commonly used in Spanish as the equivalent of more and sometimes most. It typically functions as an adverb but sometimes as an adjective or pronoun. Here is a guide to its usage: Using Ms to Mean ââ¬ËMoreââ¬â¢ or ââ¬ËMostââ¬â¢ In its most simple use, ms can come before an adjective or adverb to mean more or most, depending on the context. In the same way, ms is often the equivalent of the English suffix -er or -est. à ¿Cul es el idioma ms fcil para aprender? (What is the easiest language to learn?)Es ms difà cil vivir en el à ©xito. (It is more difficult to live with success.)à ¿Si me baà ±o en cloro serà © ms blanco? (If I bathe in chlorine, will I be whiter?)La propulsià ³n warp de Star Trek se usa para viajar ms rpido que la luz. (Star Treks warp propulsion is used to travel faster than light.)El monte Fujiyama es conocido como la ms hermosa montaà ±a en la Tierra. (Mount Fujiyama is known as the most beautiful mountain on Earth.) When it comes before a noun, ms can function as a masculine or feminine adjective and also be translated as more. Its use as an adjective to mean most is possible but uncommon. Hay ms felicidad en dar que en recibir. (There is more happiness in giving than in receiving.)Puedes enviar una invitacià ³n por correo electrà ³nico a dos o ms personas a la vez. (You can send an invitation by email to two or more people at a time.)à ¿Causa la contaminacià ³n del aire ms muertes extra al aà ±o que el tabaco? (Does air pollution cause more additional deaths each year than tobacco?) Ms can also function as a pronoun in the same way where it substitutes for ms noun: Tengo ms que tà º. (I have more than you.)Compramos ms cuando tenemos hambre. (We are buying more when we are hungry.)Lo ms que puedes lograr es ser nà ºmero dos. (The most you can accomplish is to be number two.) Ms Que vs. Ms De The phrase more than is nearly always translated as ms de or ms que. However, the two phrases are used in different ways, arent interchangeable, and should not be confused with each other. Ms de is used with numbers and quantities: Las olas, de ms de siete metros de altura, hicieron estragos. (The waves, more than 7 meters high, created havoc.)Habà a ms de un mil espectadores. (There were more than 1,000 spectators.)Es importante beber ms de dos litros de agua al dà a. (It is important to drink more than two liters of water per day.) Ms que is used otherwise. As in the second example below, an adjective or adverb can come between the ms and the que. Hoy te amo ms que ayer. (I love you more today than yesterday.)La paz es ms difà cil que la guerra. (Peace is more difficult than war.)Somos mucho ms que amigos. (We are much more than friends.) Using Ms With Verbs Although ms is often translated as more when used as an adverb following a verb, often it is better to let the context suggest a different translation: à ¡No puedo vivir ms con mis padres! (I cant live any longer with my parents!)Pienso ms cuando no hay distracciones. (I think better when there arent any distractions.)Esta pilas recargables duran ms. (These rechargeable batteries last longer.) Using Ms in Arithmetic In mathematical formulas, ms is the equivalent of plus: Dos ms dos es igual a cuatro. (Two plus two equals four.)La suma de cero ms cualquier nà ºmero da dicho nà ºmero. (The sum of zero plus any number gives that number.) Ms vs. Mas Ms should not be confused with mas, even though the two words sound alike and come from the same origin. Mas is a preposition meaning but. You wont hear it used very often- mas has a mostly literary use and in real life the word choice for but is pero. Centuries ago, ms and mas started out as the same word, with the former eventually getting the accent because it would get the stress as its more and but meanings diverged. Key Takeaways Ms is usually used as an adverb to mean more or most.Ms can also be used as an adjective or pronoun meaning more.Ms and mas are not the same word; the latter is a literary word meaning but.

Definition and Examples of Spin in Propaganda
Definition and Examples of Spin in Propaganda Spin is a contemporary term for a form of propaganda that relies on deceptive methods of persuasion. In politics, business, and elsewhere, spin is often characterized by exaggeration, euphemisms, inaccuracies, half-truths, and excessively emotional appeals. A person who composes and/or communicates spin is referred to as a spin doctor. Examples and Observations I would define spin as the shaping of events to make you look better than anybody else. I think it is . . . an art form now and it gets in the way of the truth.à à (Benjamin Bradlee, executive editor of The Washington Post, quoted by Woody Klein in All the Presidents Spokesmen: Spinning the News, White House Press From Franklin D. Roosevelt to George W. Bush. Praeger Publishers, 2008) Manipulating Meaning Often associated with newspapers and politicians, to use spin is to manipulate meaning, to twist truth for particular endsusually with the aim of persuading readers or listeners that things are other than they are. As in idioms such as to put a ââ¬Ëpositive spin on somethingââ¬â¢or a ââ¬Ënegative spin on somethingââ¬â¢one line of meaning is concealed, while anotherat least intentionallytakes its place. Spin is language which, for whatever reason, has designs on us...As the Oxford English Dictionary confirms, this sense of spin emerges only in the later 1970s, originally in the context of American politics. à (Lynda Mugglestone, A Journey Through Spin. OxfordWords Blog, September 12, 2011) Deception We live in a world of spin. It flies at us in the form of misleading commercials for products and political candidates and about public policy matters. It comes from businesses, political leaders, lobbying groups and political parties. Millions are deceived every dayâ⬠¦all because of spin. ââ¬ËSpinââ¬â¢ is the polite word for deception. Spinners mislead by means that range from subtle omission to outright lies. Spin paints a false picture of reality, by bending facts, mischaracterizing the words of others, ignoring or denying evidence, or just spinning a yarnby making things up.à (Brooks Jackson and Kathleen Hall Jamieson, unSpun: Finding Facts in a World of Disinformation. Random House, 2007) Spin and Rhetoric The implicit sense of immorality attached to spin and rhetoric leads lawmakers and candidates to use these words to undermine the sincerity of the opposition. As then House Leader Dennis Hastert declared in a 2005 debate over the estate/death tax, You see, no matter what kind of spin our friends on the other side of the aisle try to use, the death tax simply isnt fair...All of this points to an atmosphere of moral ambivalence that surrounds the modern practice of spin and rhetoric. At the level of principle, rhetorical speech is most often seen as disingenuous, inauthentic, and even morally dangerous. Yet at the level of practice, it is often accepted as an inevitable and necessary part of competitive party politics. à (Nathaniel J. Klemp, The Morality of Spin: Virtue and Vice in Political Rhetoric and the Christian Right. Rowman Littlefield, 2012) Managing the News [One] way the government manages the news is by inserting into newscasts prepackaged reports that get their message out or put a positive spin on the news. (Note that the power of government to censor is much greater in many other countries than in the United States and in some other industrial democracies.)à (Nancy Cavender and Howard Kahane, Logic and Contemporary Rhetoric: The Use of Reason in Everyday Life, 11th ed. Wadsworth, 2010) Spin vs. Debate Democrats have been known to conduct their fair share of spin. During the presidential election campaign season of 2004, some liberal Democrats indulged in inflammatory and unsubstantiated attacks on the right by comparing the Bush administration to Nazi Germany, associating the Republican Party with a racist fringe candidate, and allegingwithout evidencethat Bush advisor Karl Rove was the mastermind behind the attacks on John Kerrys war record. These occurrences of manipulative rhetoric [led] one commentator on political spin to conclude that, in the heat of the campaign, reasonable debate is again falling by the wayside.à (Bruce C. Jansson, Becoming an Effective Policy Advocate: From Policy Practice to Social Justice, 6th ed. Brooks/Cole, 2011) Spin Doctors [In a 1998 interview that Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott] gave to the Independent, . . . he said we need to get away from rhetoric and back on to the substance of government. That statement apparently constituted the basis for the Independents headline: Prescott bins the spin for real policies. The spin is an allusion to New Labours spin-doctors, the people responsible for the media presentation of the Government and for putting a media spin (or angle) on its policies and activities.à (Norm Fairclough, New Labour, New Language? Routledge, 2000) Etymology From Old English spinnan, draw, stretch, spin

They are reasonable and relevant in that there is no choice that is left especially when the labourer depends on labour to sustenance. It is true to say that this case is prevalent in the world which makes just about anyone who works for a living an enslaved person. The passage is important in guiding the efforts of people and their attributes towards labour. It promotes acceptance since it addresses the fact that humans need to do what they do. Population The Spanish people are essentially a mixture of the indigenous peoples of the Iberian Peninsula with the successive peoples who conquered the peninsula and occupied it for extended periods. These added ethnologic elements include the Romans, a Mediterranean people, and the Suevi, Vandals, and Visigoths (see GOTHS), Teutonic peoples. Semitic elements are also present. Several ethnic groups in Spain have kept a separate identity, culturally and linguistically. These include the Basques (Euskal-dun), who number about 2.5 million and live chiefly around the Bay of Biscay; the Galicians, numbering about 2.5 million, who live in northwestern Spain; and the nomadic Spanish Gypsies (Gitanos; see GYPSIES). Population Characteristics The population of Spain (1991) was 38,872,268. The estimate for 1993 was 39,207,159; the overall density was about 78 people per sq km (about 201 per sq mi). Copyright (c) 1994 Funk & Wagnall's Corporation. Forestry and Fishing The cork-oak tree is the principal forest resource of Spain, and the annual production of cork, more than 110,000 metric tons in the mid-1980s, is second only to that of Portugal. The yield of Spain's forests is insufficient for the country's wood-pulp and timber needs. The fishing industry is important to the Spanish economy. The annual catch was about 1.5 million metric tons in 1990 and consisted primarily of tuna, squid, octopus, hake, sardines, anchovies, mackerel, blue whiting, and mussels. Mining The mineral wealth of Spain is considerable. In 1990 annual production included about 36 million metric tons of coal and lignite, 1.5 million tons of iron ore, 255,000 tons of zinc concentrates, 58,400 tons of lead, 5 million tons of gypsum, and 795,000 tons of crude petroleum. The principal coal mines are in the northwest, near Oviedo; the chief iron-ore deposits are in the same area, around Santander and Bilbao; large mercury reserves are located in Almadà ©n, in southwestern Spain, and copper and lead are mined in Andalusia. Other minerals produced are potash, manganese, fluorite, tin, tungsten, wolfram, bismuth, antimony, cobalt, and rock salt. Manufacturing Among the leading goods manufactured in Spain are textiles, iron and steel, motor vehicles, chemicals, clothing, footwear, ships, refined petroleum, and cement. Spain is one of the world's leading wine producers, and the annual output in the late 1980s was about 2.3 million metric tons. The iron and steel industry, centered in Bilbao, Santander, Oviedo, and Avilà ©s, produced about 13.

It was amended by Act 3996 to include licensing of airmen and aircraft, inspection of aircraft concerning air traffic rules, schedule s and rates and enforcement of Aviation Laws. [5] From 1932 to 1936, there were no standard procedures as to the licensing of airmen, registration of aircraft and recording of various aeronautical activities connected with commercial aviation. There were attempts made to register planes and their owners without ascertaining their airworthiness and to record names of pilots, airplane mechanics and other details. [5] In 1933, the office of Technical Assistant of Aviation matters was enlarged into the Aeronautics Division under the Department of Commerce and Industry, the functions of which were embodied in Administrative Order No. 309, a joint Bulletin issued by the Department of Public Works and Communications and the Department of Finance. 5] In October 1934, Act 4033 was passed to require a franchise from theà Philippine governmentà in order to operate an air service and to regulate foreign aircraft operations. Under the new law, the CAA shall be an independent regulatory body with quasi-judicial and quasi-legislative powers with corporate attributes and on March 4, 2008,à Presidentà Gloria Macapagal-Arroyoà sign into law.FAA and EU downgrades and other controversies On January 17, 2008, theà United Statesà Federal Aviation Administrationà (FAA) downgraded theà Philippines' rating to Category 2 from Category 1, since its Air Transportation Office (Philippines) (ATO) did not fully satisfy international safety standards. Consequently,à Philippine Airlinesà (PAL) president Jaime Bautista stated that its 2008 growth targets would be lowered. Just out of 8 years ofà receivershipà last year, the FAA decision prevented PAL from increasing US flights from 33 per week. 10]à Then Presidentà Gloria Macapagal-Arroyodismissed acting Air Transportation Office chief Danilo Dimagiba after the downgrade and designated DOTC [Department of Transportation and Communications] Secretaryà Leandro Mendozaà as concurrent Officer in Charge of ATO. Also, theà Embassy of the United States in Manilaà warned US citizens in the Philippines ââ¬Å"to refrain from using Philippine-based carriers due to ââ¬Ëserious concerns' about the ATO's alleged mishandling of the aviation industry.Dimagiba blamed lack of funds for the FAA downgrade, alleging that ATO needs Php 1 billion ($1 = Php 40), roughly around $25,000,000. [11] Effective April 1, 2010, the European Union, following the FAA's lead, banned Philippine carriers from f lying to Europe. Asia Times reported, ââ¬Å"EU ambassador Alistair MacDonald said: ââ¬ËThe commission considers that the supervisory authority is currently not able to implement and enforce the relevant safety standards, and decided therefore to ban from EU airspace all air carriers licensed in the Philippines until these deficiencies are corrected. ââ¬Å"[12] On June 19, 2010, important navigation equipment at the Manila airport maintained by CAAP failed. The very high frequency omni-directional radio range (VOR) which helps planes land especially in bad weather stopped working due to heavy rain and there was no available replacement. One had to be brought from another airport. [13]

Civilization in Lord of the Flies - 546 Words
Civilization has been a pinnacle of human achievement since it appeared. To be called uncouth is a grave insult. However, is civilization truly a part of who humans are or is what they have come to associate with savagery more true to the human heart? Through Peter Brook and William Goldingââ¬â¢s presentation of Lord of the Flies share the idea that ââ¬Å"savageryâ⬠will overcome rational thought and when structure falls, the primitive mind will rule, Brook shows this primitiveness as more a part of the human psyche than an evil to be eliminated. Savagery overcomes forms of logical thought that has been revolutionized and prized by humans since the dawn of learning. When given a task to earn the children salvation, Jack abandons his duty and goes off hunting (pg. 70). If he had thought it through properly, Jack would have realized that all the meat he could dream of is at his home. Even if he were catering to his ego, Jack should have realized that there is no grander or mo re revered deed than saving all the children with his vigilance. After the second feast, Jack orders everyone to fight off the rain with a rain dance (pg. 151). A dance cannot possibly stop or affect atmospheric events. Intercultural Communication Culture
Question: Discuss about theIntercultural Communicationfor Culture. Answer: Introduction Culture refers to values, beliefs and shared norms. It is a phenomenon that separates a community or organization from another community, (Mao Hale, 2015, p. 132). In the international business environment, culture is a vital factor in dictating the success of every enterprise. Managers of multinational organizations must, therefore, ensure efficient flow of information between the organization and the diverse cultural community, by designing appropriate intercultural communication strategies. In the modern business environment, organization share information across different social groups with diverse cultural beliefs, values, and norms. Intercultural communication is, therefore, an important phenomenon in ensuring effective communication between the organization and its stakeholders. As explained by Martin Nakayama (2015, p. 15) global enterprises recruit employees from diverse cultural orientations. Therefore, they must create intercultural communication channels to enable staff to interact effectively. Language differences between cultures also form a vital consideration as the information may get lost in translation. Multinational organizations such as IBM and Microsoft use the Internet as their main channel of interaction. Any information posted on the web will possibly become accessible to another person from a different culture. Hofstede developed six cultural orientations which include Collectivism versus Individualism, Power distance, Uncertainty avoidance index and Masculinity versus Femininity, Indulgence versus Restraint and Normative versus Pragmatic. Power distance is the existence of inequalities in the authority distribution, accepted by subordinates, (Taras et al., 2010). Individualism and collectivism, refer to the tendency of individuals to keep together as a family. Countries in Central America like Guatemala and Panama have very low individuality index, (Devinney Hohberger, 2016, p. 3). Therefore a marketing strategy that emphasizes on the Benefits to the community may be understood easily. In masculine societies, men are expected to take active roles in executing duties, while in feminine societies, women perform most of the duties, (Taras et al., 2010). Sweden has the lowest masculinity score while Japan has the highest score. Hofstede's model highlighted Greece as having the highest UAI while Singapore as having the lowest UAI, (Devinney Hohberger, 2016, p. 13). Multinational companies can use these orientations to develop proper communication procedures. They can do this by conducting a thorough PESTEL analysis. Personal Reflection. I consider the knowledge of this subject very vital to every manager and entrepreneur. In starting any business, the primary motive of every entrepreneur is always to gain profitability and expand its operations into the global market. With globalization and advancement in technology, an understanding of this topic would allow the organization to obtain customer trust and correlate efficiently with the variable cultural beliefs and values in the operating environment. The following are some of the reasons why I found this topic interesting: Supports globalization: The text typically supports globalization. It does this through equipping managers with the right skills that would enable them to ensure proper exchange and flow of information between diverse cultures. Most organizations operate foreign branches, (Daly et al., 2015, p. 27). They, therefore, use Knowledge from this topic to formulate clear communication strategies Enables organizations to respect cultural diversity: Using Hofstede's Model, the six cultural orientations describe the nature of cultures among different communities. When an organization uses this model effectively, it will be able to appreciate cultural diversity, (Taras et al., 2010). This in return makes employees from diverse cultures be able to work with the organization without having to adjust to unfavorable organizational values. Helps companies in designing their mission statement: The study of intercultural communication enables organizations to create an achievable mission statement. For example in New Zealand, people believe in equality and tend to question power difference, (Devinney Hohberger, 2016, p. 12). Knowledge of this subject would, therefore, enable the organization to formulate proper and adequate mission statements. Application of Intercultural Communication After acquiring enough knowledge and skills, I intend to form a retail company, with the main office in Australia and become the CEO. The Retail Company will have branches in New Zealand and Japan. Japan and New Zealand have different cultural orientations making it necessary to use Hofstedes model to develop a clear operational strategy. I intend to compete with companies like Woolworths which are well-developed in the global market. Since I am an Australian, understanding the New Zealand and Japanese cultures would enable me to conduct the following activities efficiently: Designing Leadership and Chain of Command: Japan has high power index. The less powerful individuals are likely to accept the unequal distribution of power, (Mao Hale, 2015, p. 120). Therefore, in the Japan store, I will come up with a well-structured chain of command. One director can control a large store as employees would not be willing to question the managers qualifications. In New Zealand, most people tend to question unequal power distribution. Therefore, I would ensure that Power is distributed equally among employees. Every employee would have distinct roles to play. This will create confidence and satisfaction among employees. Formulation of rules and values of the company: I will use Hofstedes model as a guideline in formulating standards and regulations to guide my company. Japan has high uncertainty avoidance index, (Yoshida et al., 2013, p. 78). I would develop strict rules and regulations to govern recruitment, marketing and general conduct of employees. This is because most employees in Japan tend to adhere to strict regulations. According to Chavez (2013, p. 86), most people in New Zealand accept new ideas. The marketing mix can therefore be altered to match the market conditions. The New Zealand residents are also less resistant to change, (Mao Hale, 2015, p. 141). It is, therefore, easier to test a new product in New Zealand. Recruitment and promotion: The Japanese believe in men more than women in leadership and accept the power difference. I will, therefore, have no problem in ensuring equality in management and promotion in Japan. In New Zealand, they believe in Femininity orientation and tend to question power difference, (Crossman Noma, 2013, p. 546)). I will therefore comfortably employ women to Management positions in the Stores. I will also formulate strict guidelines to ensure gender equality in employment and promotion. The Difference Between Of and From
The Difference Between 'Of' and 'From' Many English learners have difficulties understanding the difference between of and from in English. This comes from the fact that a number of languages, like Italian and French and German, use the same preposition for both of and from. For example, in Italian, the phrase I am from Milan or I come from Milan can be translated as, Sono di Milano. The possessive use of of in English can also use the preposition di in Italian. For example, the phrase, Hes a friend of ours can be translated into Italian as, E un amico di noi. In other words, the preposition di in Italian corresponds to the use of both from and of in English. This is true in many languages. In English, however, there is a distinct difference between of and from. Using Of in a Sentence Of is mainly used as a possessive. For example: Hes a friend of mine. The color of the house is red. It is important to remember that it is more common to use the possessive s or the possessive adjective in English than to use of- even if of is grammatically correct. Thus, the sentences above would generally be in these forms: Hes my friend. The houses color is red. Common Phrases With Of Of is also commonly used with all and both to describe a common trait that many objects share. For example: All of the students in the class enjoy volleyball. Both of the assignments are due at the end of the week. Common Phrases With Of Another common phrase with of is one of the superlative form plural noun singular verb. This phrase is commonly used to focus on a specific object that stands out from a group. Notice that although the plural noun is used, the singular phrase takes the singular conjugation of the verb because the subject is One of the.... For example: One of the most interesting things about my job is the people I meet. One of the most difficult subjects for me is math. Using From in a Sentence From is generally used to express that something originates from something else, that something comes from somewhere, or some person. For example: Jack comes from Portland. This formula derives from the work of Peter Schimmel. This pearl comes from the South Pacific. Common Phrases With From From can also be used with the prepositions to and until to mark the beginning and ending point of time of an action or state. Generally, from...to is used with past tenses, while from...until is used when speaking about future actions. However, from...to can be used in most situations. For example: I played tennis from two to four in the afternoon yesterday. We are meeting in Chicago from Monday until Thursday. Understanding the difference between ofà and from can be tricky at first for ESL students, but like all commonly-confused words, the difference between them becomes more clear the more they are used.
